Lufthansa UK appoints Wunderman London

This week German airline Lufthansa announced the appointment of Wunderman in London to run selected direct communication projects, B2C and B2B, in the UK and Ireland.  Lufthansa continues Wunderman’s winning streak in the B2B sector having won Spanish mobile communications company Telefonica last month and added a large B2B programme to its increasing share of Nokia business.

imageThe win increases the strength of the relationship between Lufthansa and the Wunderman network.  Brendan Tansey, CEO of Wunderman said “We’re very excited about the strategic challenge this win presents to our B2B digital experts.   The airline industry can best be described as an intensely competitive market and we’ve escalated our understanding of the key business drivers to be able to start work immediately.”  One of the first briefs in to Wunderman London will be for Lufthansa’s frequent flyer programme, Miles & More, which, with 17 million members, is Europe’s leading loyalty programme.

Commenting on the appointment Theodora Varsamis, Marketing & Pricing Manager of Lufthansa UK and Ireland said: “The Wunderman team demonstrated a good understanding of the business and a commitment to a rapid start with ongoing learning.  This builds on Lufthansa’s relationship with Wunderman in Germany and leverages shared learning and a commitment to spread best practice.”
